Dealing With Setbacks Without Guilt

Recovery isn’t a straight line. Some days feel amazing, and other days feel like stepping backward. I’ve learned that setbacks don’t mean failure. They just mean I’m human.

When I slip into old habits or negative thoughts:

  • I try not to shame myself.

  • I remind myself how far I’ve come.

  • I reach out for support.

  • I reflect on what triggered the setback.

Setbacks are part of growth. They don’t erase progress — they teach resilience.
