A Day in Recovery
ere’s what a real day in recovery looks like for me — not perfect, just honest.
Morning:
I wake up and remind myself today is a new chance. Sometimes I journal. Sometimes I just breathe and stretch. I check in with myself: How am I feeling? What do I need today?
School:
Classes can be tiring, but I try to stay grounded. If I start getting overwhelmed, I ask for a break. I talk to my school counselor once or twice a week — she helps me stay balanced.
Afternoon:
I spend time with friends, do homework, or go to therapy. Therapy used to feel intimidating, but now it feels like having a coach for my brain.
Evening:
I unwind by listening to music or doing yoga. Before bed, I write down one thing I’m proud of. Even if it’s tiny, it matters.
Recovery isn’t about being perfect. it’s about being present.
